🐾 Welcome, New Pack 34 Families!
We’re so excited to have you join the adventure of Cub Scouting! This page is here to help you get started with the basics — what to expect, what you’ll need, and how to get the most out of your family’s Scouting experience.
⭐ What Is Cub Scouting?
Cub Scouting is a family-centered program that helps kids grow through fun, adventure, and values-based learning. Our Pack focuses on building character, learning new skills, serving the community, and — of course — having a great time!
📅 Meetings & Events
-
Pack Meetings: We all meet together on the 3rd Monday of each month at St. John’s UMC. These meetings include fun group activities, competitions, awards, and a lot of laughter. We start promptly at 6:30 PM with a flag ceremony.
-
Den Meetings: Cub Scouts meet by grade level (Den) on the 1st Monday of each month. These meetings focus on rank advancement through hands-on activities and adventures.
-
PaLs Rally: Parents and Leaders meet monthly during Den night to plan events, delegate tasks, and keep everything running smoothly.
💻 Scoutbook
Scoutbook is our online tool for tracking your child’s progress and keeping you informed about events.
-
Parents can view and record their scout’s completed adventures.
-
Leaders verify and approve all advancement.
-
Stay up to date with what your Scout is working on and what’s coming next!
- Pack communication is primarily through emails generated in Scoutbook and our Pack calendar in Scoutbook.
💵 Dues & Costs
-
National Registration: $85/year (paid directly to Scouting America).
-
Pack Dues: $200/year (covers awards, supplies, activities). Payment plans & Fee waivers available.
-
Uniform: Required; details on our Uniform page. We offer a fall Uniform Exchange to help families save.
-
Camping & Events: Most events are included in dues. Some special events or campouts may have additional fees (e.g., ~$30/person for campouts).
💡 Tip: Scouts can “earn their way” by participating in our annual product sales fundraiser!
