Spring Family Camp 2024 – Beaver Dam State Park

Welcome to Pack 8034 Spring Camp!

Our spring camp is for the entire family, Lions through AOLs, parents, and siblings.  We tent-camp for two nights, enjoy campfires, skits, songs, and lots of cub scouting fun!  This year’s spring camp will be at Beaver Dam State Park.  Scouts will be able to participate in a variety of activities in a unique and fun environment and will learn camping basics from experienced scouts and leaders.

When:  April 26 – 28 2024 | Check-in after 5pm on Friday. Check out by noon on Sunday.

Where:  14548 Beaver Dam Lane, Shipman, IL 62685   217-854-8020

Directions/Parking:

Located 7 miles south of Carlinville, IL. off Shipman Rd.

Take 159 North.  Turn left on 16 W (W Shipman Rd, road changes name several times).

Go 5 miles, turn right on 6 N (Carlinville Rd).

Go 8 miles, turn left on Beaver Dam Ln.

We are staying at Beavers Den group camp.  Camp sites are first-come, first-served. You may unload near the camp.  Once you are unloaded, you may park your vehicle in the designated parking areas.

Meals: The pack will provide a Friday night dinner, Saturday breakfast/lunch/dinner, and a light Sunday breakfast. If there are any dietary restrictions, please let Valerie know at valkyrie88a@gmail.com ASAP.

Pack your clothes & items INSIDE plastic bags inside your gear bag. That way, even in the event of rain, you still have warm, dry clothes and shoes! Bring a bag for wet clothes too.

 

Rules:

  1. Scouts and siblings are NOT ALLOWED at camp without a parent or guardian, even temporarily.  If you must leave, you must take your children with you.
  2. Each person at camp MUST have a current medical form on file; adults and siblings included.  You will not be able to set up camp until the forms are complete and on file.
  3. No dogs or other pets allowed at camp except for certified service animals. Such animals must be always kept on leash.
  4. No alcohol or illegal drugs, fireworks or firearms allowed at camp.  Smoking is discouraged.
  5. No youth is allowed to sleep in the tent of an adult other than their own parent or guardian.
  6. Only Scouts possessing the Whittling Chip may carry a pocketknife.
  7. No electronics of any kind may be used by Scouts or siblings participating in the camp program.
  8. Class A uniforms must be worn during flag and religious ceremonies.  Class B shirts may be worn the rest of time at camp.
